JJ Abrams gets scrutinized by David Zaslav and Warner Bros. Discovery

As for the cancellation of other JJ Abrams projects, Warner Bros. Discovery axed Abrams’ expensive sci-fi series Demimonde which reportedly had a budget of $250 million or more. WBD also forwarded Abrams the brilliant spin off Neglectwhich would now be at Netflix, and rumors have it that JJ Abrams and Ta-Nehisi Coates Superman won’t take off.

As the Abrams and Bad Robot deal is reviewed by CEO David Zaslav and Warner Bros. Discovery, while Abrams inked a mega deal in 2019 but didn’t see much, Abrams and Bad Robot are said to still have a slew of projects in development at HBO Max/HBO with Constantine’s diverse vision , a Madame X series with Feather dusterand a show called baby bird. Abrams has also been previously reported as making a Justice League Dark series for HBO Max, but not much has been reported on it lately. When Kevin Smith announced his own DC series, strange adventures featuring Bizarro Superman, had been canceled by HBO Max, Smith actually said he thinks all DC shows get the ax on HBO Max too.

JJ Abrams signed his deal with WarnerMedia in September 2019, worth half a billion dollars, under which Abrams and Bad Robot were to develop projects for television, motion pictures, games, digital content, etc., but not much content was produced, which is why it is believed that Zaslav and Warner Bros. Discovery take a second look at Abrams.
