Secret Sounds are one of Australia’s largest and fastest growing musical groups, spanning many segments of the music industry. With a full-time team of over 75 people, we produce the country’s leading music and art festivals, run our own venues, and represent the interests of over 250 leading national and international artists through labels, publishing, tours, public relations, commercial rights / sponsorship companies, artist management and booking agencies.

Our marketing team is currently looking for a music enthusiast to join our digital team. The main function of the position is the development and execution of marketing campaigns on our main communication channels, with special attention and responsibility for social and digital channels through the Secret Sounds music festivals. The role is based on Byron Bay.

As the festival’s digital marketing coordinator, your main responsibilities would include the following:

  • Manage organic and paid social media for Secret Sounds festival brands (Splendor in the Grass, Falls Festival, Grow Your Own, Harvest Rock)
  • Coordinate and implement a multi-channel marketing strategy to drive page engagement and ticket sales – Facebook, IG, TikTok, SnapChat, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn
  • Coordinate the digital content strategy, in conjunction with internal and external design teams
  • Coordinate the curation and distribution of digital marketing material
  • Social media analysis and reports
  • Social media strategy budget management
  • Writing – social networks, GED, website
  • Leading outward-looking community engagement
  • Manage email marketing strategy including content creation, list management, user acquisition and analytics
  • Managing the website in the background, including uploading content and Google Analytics
  • Ensure that Google Analytics / Tag Manager, Facebook Pixels, email subscriptions are functioning properly at all times by liaising with the necessary technical partners
  • Help manage audience data via our Secret Sounds CRM
  • Manage festival content on site and organize / distribute through major digital channels
  • Manage the social networks and the website of the Village Sounds booking agency (FB, IG, Twitter)
  • Assist in tour marketing when needed

Key selection criteria:

  • A passion for music and an understanding of the Australian musical landscape
  • A good understanding of multi-channel creative content and marketing campaigns
  • A flexible attitude to working hours, especially during event launches and show days
  • Reliable, motivated and energized by a fast paced work environment
  • Must have advanced written and oral English skills and be able to adapt the writing to the tone of voice of our festivals

Experience requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience working on digital marketing campaigns preferably
  • Knowledge of the technical platform through: Google Marketing Products (Tag Manager / DCM / Ad Words / Analytics) and Facebook Ad’s Manager
  • Bonus: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Outlook), Adobe Design Suite, WordPress, CRM Management
