The art society is seeking applications for a juried art exhibition

WATERVILLE — Artists are invited to submit work to the Maine Open Juried Art Show, scheduled for Saturday, March 19 through Friday, April 22.

The exhibit will be curated by and exhibited at The Framemakers, 46 Main St., according to a press release from the Maine Open Juried Art Show Committee.

The submission deadline is Monday, February 21, and artists can submit up to two entries through the digital portal at watervilleareaartsociety.com.

Sponsored by the society, the show traditionally draws attendees from across the state and represents a wide variety of artistic mediums. The company will offer cash prizes in five types of categories.

The jurors for 2022 are Karen Adrienne, artist/owner and director of Artdogs Studios and Circling the Square Fine Art Press located in Gardiner; Rob Smith, Nature Photographer and Certified Master Photographer of Professional Photographers of America; and artist Maggie Libby, curator of Digital Discover and Engagement in Special Collections and Archives at Colby College.

The exhibit will also be available through an online gallery under the MOJAS tab on the website. The Zoom reception and rewards will be online events, scheduled for March 19.
