For some people who dream of becoming a nurse, traditional nursing education programs can be intimidating or just not suitable for their life situation. Offering alternative program options allows those who would not otherwise pursue their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) to achieve their goal of becoming a nurse.
Nurse.org recently recognized the University of Wisconsin’s Oshkosh Accelerated BSN Option as the nation’s second-best online nursing program for non-nurses.
As the first program of its kind to be developed in the United States, the accelerated BSN option was designed for people who already have a bachelor’s degree and are looking for a BSN. Available to students from any location, the rigorous program enables non-nurses to achieve their dream of becoming a nurse in just 12 months.
The program has been recognized because of the fully online academic coursework, clinical rotations offered in or near the student’s home community, and the time it takes to complete the program. The cost of attendance, admission requirements, and additional accolades the program has received were also considered.
